The Guard, which was due to return on January 15th in a new time slow of 8pm, has been put back to now air in April. This message was sent to fans via Facebook from Mark Bishop.
Subject: Update from the top...
So for those of you who were wondering why the show isn't on tonight, we found out today that the relaunch of the second half of "The Guard" Season Two will be postponed until an undetermined date in March. The reason for this is that the American networks are adjusting their programming schedules and since CanWest Global is bound to their American broadcast partners due to simulcasts, etc, they could not guarantee an uninterrupted eight week run of "The Guard" at this time. If they had gone ahead with tonight's broadcast, "The Guard" would have begun bouncing around the schedule in three weeks time, further frustrating fans and likely having a negative impact on our ratings. Because of this, the decision was made at an executive programming level at CanWest to postpone us until the schedule settles down in two months.
Anyway, sorry for the bad news but hang in there -- many of the best episodes of the series are still to come and I promise it will be worth the wait! |
